Mission Statements

A mission statement is where you tell the world... what you're going to do to save it.
Almost all websites are out to "save the world." GetWebContent, for example, is out to save the world from badly written, counterproductive website copy. Other sites are out to "save the world" from high-priced consumer electronics prices, poor credit ratings, cookie-cutter jewelry and clothes, usurious mortgages, or over-priced airplane fares.

Good mission statements are, in effect, anthems. Bold statements of where a company has been and intends to go. Here's an example of a major corporate mission statement penned by a GetWebContent writer:

"We will offer good products which satisfy the needs of the people"

-- Panasonic Founder Konosuke Matsushita, 1894-1989

For almost 90 years we have unswervingly following the path laid down by our founder, to provide technologically advanced and meticulously manufactured Products For Life. Ecologically sound products that meet the needs, enhance the lifestyles and simplify the daily tasks of millions of consumer and industrial users across the globe.

As we begin the countdown to our second century, we remain committed to continuing our legacy of innovation, invention and manufacturing excellence. Most of all we rededicate ourselves to fulfilling what our founder described as an "invisible contract" to render "service first and foremost" to the customers who buy our products, the people who design and build them, and the global society in which each and every one of us lives.
A mission statement is where you tell the world - or at least the world of your customers and potential customers - what you're going to do to save it. Between them, our writers have written hundreds of mission statements for companies large and small.
